ADS! ADS! ADS!

Our task was to make 6 banners for these corporations: Burger King, Baskin Robbins, Pizza Pizza, Dominos Pizza, Staples and Wal-Mart. Here are my banner ads. Make sure to comment and tell me what you think!

Audi Mock-up Web Templates

Today, in class we finished our web design introduction.
Here are 2 different concepts we created for a mock up Audi R8 web template.
Some of the text information is true some of it is made up and most of it is inconsistent.
Does the R8 have 5.2 FSI or a 4.s FSI Quattro engine? I dunno...
Concept 1/Concept 2 Check em out:

(P.S. I've been doing web templates and interfaces since 2003 but after a long break from it I really enjoyed doing something I am so very familiar with. Hope you like 'em)

3D Assignment from an Alcoholics Perspective

Hi guys!

Back again with more work! I really liked my latest assignment! Speaking of things I'm fond of, I think the world should know that I really love drawing, graphic design, almost anything that's blue, my mother, etc. I truly do. The only thing I love more is probably beer. Wait, scratch that I love my mother more (sometimes, she buys me beer) Love you mom! None the less I love beer. I got belly to prove it.

So with my utter infatuation I decided I was going to do my latest assignment with beer as my subject of focus.

I had to create 3 scenes with Adobe Illustrator using 3D shapes. All kinds of stuff, extruded shapes, revolved shapes, symbols, shapes with mapped faces. All the fun stuff. So here are the results...

First, My Budweiser Ad/Scene:

My Second, the Coors Light Ad/Scene:

And, my homeland beer, Trinidad's own Carib:

Nokia Nanotechnology

This is just mind blowing. Nokia has truly impressed me with this. I hope Apple or Sony Ericsson step their game up because this is just on a new plane of development!

Character Illustrator Assignment

In my Digital Media Art class we were given a project where we had to find or make our own 'character'. First we had to make a sketch, then digitally trace the sketch to make an illustrator vector version. For this assignment I didn't have the slightest idea what I was going to choose for my character but once I put pencil to paper I realized I had an eagle head and from there... I went with it. Here's my sketch (edited a bit in Photoshop)...

Here's my final copy:

Paper Zoo

Hey all!
My class was assigned the task of painting 5 ecosystem backgrounds. We were grouped up and we painted them in class. Then we were assigned an animal for each background and were told to draw them and digitally place them on the background. We also got to choose any animal of our preference and we could put them on one of the backgrounds that was most suitable. So here are my results... My Paper Zoo! Hope you like!

The Lion in the Savannah

The Bush Baby in the Rainforest

The Penguin in the Arctic (As well as my choice of animal, the Wolf)

The Squid in the Ocean

The Tortoise of the Desert

Typography

Guess what!? My class got a new Typography professor today! Yaaay!

Shucks, I went to class 5 minutes late because I stayed back in Sound class to ask my teacher a question. When I got to Typography class I opened the door and my new teacher (who looks like a domesticated Tommy Chong overdosing on Vidal Sassoon) pointed at the door and said to me 'Come back in an hour!' to which I smirked and replied, 'Sorry I'm late, it's because I was talking to my last professor!' and he quickly responded with a good old, 'I don't care! Out!' so I just stared blankly as my asshole-ometer started to spark and smoke from overload and I walked out. I was a bit frustrated and I was tempted to just sit down anyways but I took it for what it was and I left.

An hour passed. When I came back to class I was joined by the other people who were denied their fundamental right to typography education (yeah, right!)

First, he had a drawing of a couple cowboy hats on the board as a diagram to illustrate how he is 'always right'.

Second, he spelt scissors on the board with no 'c' and handed out a sheet with words we couldn't spell wrong on our assignments unless we wanted a 'zero'.

Third, he explicitly urged us to lie to our classmates to disadvantage them at our 'own benefit'.

He sounds funny, I know, but the sickening thing is; the guy was dead serious. He encouraged us to lie to our classmates, to turn our backs to them in need and kick them when they were down at any chance we got since we would all potentially be in competition with each other in our field of work.

Now I don't know who took a shit in his fruitloops but this guy was a bit grumpy, if not totally anal to the point where he actually became an anus.

Anyways, as he started the lecture I payed attention and I participated fully. (I had to regain points, he does grade my work!) So I participated to the point where he suggested other people give input. But while taking notes I got preoccupied and to destress from his idiocy, I 'woosah-ed' my mind with this 'typography masterpiece'.

I present the new 2010 Lucida Console-Coupe

I'm done my rant. Enjoy. And remember everyone... it's SanS Serif! Dont fail because you didn't put an S on a word!

Team Logo Assignment

In my Digital Media Art course we're learning how to use the pen tool in Illustrator and I think I got a good grasp of it since I managed to do okay teaching myself how to make vectors with the pen tool in Photoshop. In an effort to get us comfortable with logos and logo standards we got an assignment from Joe (my prof) to make an NFL/NHL/NBA team logo of our choice. I decided I would challenge myself with something tricky and intricate so here is my rerendered version of the Jacksonville Jaguars' extended logo!
