Say AHHHH! T-Rex Tooth!

This assignment was by far one of the most challenging for myself since I am not much of a sculpter. I made my very own recplica T-Rex fossilized K9 Tooth. I have included some of the pictures to show the process. Enjoy! Let me know what you think.

Step 1: Make wire framework for model (shirt hanger)

Step 2: Make tin foil bulk body for model (scale included)

Step 3: Super sculpy mold into shape with hands (rough shape)

Step 4: Bake that bad boy.

Step 5: Precision sculpt with Swiss utility knife, tooth pick, and tweezers.

Step 6: Blow torch model because you're impatient and totally burn it. Then sand down the burnt portions to hide your mistakes.

Step 7: Prime the model

Step 8: Paint model
ET VIOLA! Thats the process I used to make my T-Rex fossil tooth. Hope you like it, don't forget to comment! Thanks!

Quick Paintings

In Sketch class we had to paint some still objects that our prof put on our table. He gave us 10 minutes to draw each.... The following paintings we used water paint without any sketching or preliminary lines. Check em out and let me know what you think! Enjoy!

Matrix Sentinel (I didn't quite finish all the arms but this was a general idea of the object)

Mr. M&M (sadly, I had a rear view at my table)

An alien from Universal Soldier (I liked this one!)

A Wooden Human Figure (This guy came out well but I ran out of paper for the foot)
A rocker chick I painted while the prof was talking and showing videos... Started with the rolling stones mouth icon and continued to look like Courtney Love in a typical papparazzi shot of her on drugs.

Little Red Riding Hood

For a class assignment we had to make a mind map for Little Red Riding Hood, write a new version as well as a sketch of Little Red's new outfit. I really am pleased with the turn out for my sketch. I always thought of Little Red Riding Hood as a small child but I've grown up and I figure maybe so did she... The only thing that didnt grow was her outfit ;)

Hole in the Earth

This post has nothing to do with art but I am just blown away by this 'natural disaster'. It truly is unique. If you have seen the movie '2012' or 'War of the Worlds' you might be shitting in your pants at the sight of this photo. I almost did... but I was on the subway so... I resisted. Anyhow they blame this gouge in the Earth on a leaky sewage pipe. Its about 200 ft deep and 140 ft across. There used to be a 3 story building there but it was consumed by the Earthly orface along with 3 people who sadly did not survive but they have been retrieved! It's crazy. I wonder if the world is slowly coming to an end? If the 2012 prophecy is true, the world will end on my birthday. December 21. Hahaha sucks...
