Inspirational Artist Assignment

I had to draw 2 sketches that were inspired by the work of a modern day artist. (I actually get marks to do this stuff!) and I was thrilled to find out I was assigned Tim Burton to use as my inspiration. Tim is pretty well known for his work with films. He has directed and produced hit motion pictures such as Edward Scissor Hands, Batman, Batman Returns, Beetlejuice, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Mars Attacks, and Corpse Bride. Also mentionable, he directed the recent rendition of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005) as well as Alice in Wonderland (2010). However, his illustration talent which lead him to producing is not as well known as his film work. Tim Burton drew and designed his characters for many (almost all) of his animated films. Jack, Edward, Corpse Bride, the dark and dreary version of Penguin and Cat woman from Batman and many others! I had a great source of work to give me ideas. So... Check out my rendition of Tim Burton-esque art.
P.S. I used pencil for sketches and outlined my lines with a fine point pen. Critiques welcome.

If I Had A Super Power

I would definitely want the ability to become invisible whenever I wanted. If I were able to visually dissappear I would become a super hero, knighted by Flava Flav, and known as Invisaboyeeeee!!!
WHERE?
If I could turn invisable I know exactly where I would get my powers from. The Invisaliens of Planet Invisalon. They would give me the ability to turn invisible just like them for being their amazing tour guide of the planet Earth and introducing them to the two greatest things on the planet. Pizza and Latinas.
WHEN?
They would probably give me the powers when the tour of Earth was over. I know they would be hesitant at first. After all, with great power comes great chicks. But after I took them to Rio de Janeiro for Brazil's Carnival they would ultimately give in to sharing their talent.
HOW?
The Invisaliens have special mind powers that allow them to turn invisable, travel at light speed and move things with their mind. They can use their telekenetic powers to change the order of neucleotides in my DNA. Their enormous mental capacities would allow them to break down my genome and figure out how to change the pigments in my body. After they do the genetic mutation they would have to give me a pill with a highly radioactive element they call Invisaline (it would be 117, on the periodic table if it went that high)
WHY?
After high school when I suddenly became very aware of the insignificance of each individual on Earth I would decide I didn't want to be one of the insignificant others that fade away into the past without making a mark on mankind. So I would set out to communicate with the heavens only to be answered by life forms from another Galaxy. They would tell me they were doing an assesment of the different planets with intelligent life and they wanted me to give them a tour of our planet to evaluate the value of our species. Little did I know, they would give me the power to turn myself invisible and I would use those powers to help people all around the world. Thus, creating a world-renowned reputation as INVISABOYEEEEE!!!

Create a Rabbit

My sketch class prof told the class to create a rabbit in 5 minutes. So we had to sketch it up and paint it with watercolors. Pretty damn preschoolish but it was refreshing doing something non digital using classical mediums. Heres a picture of it for y'all to see. Im thinking of vectorizing it to fix it up so stay tuned.

ART: Vectorized 2000 Civic

Hey World,
This is my first art post! I don't have a ton of experience with vectors but I sure like the outcome with this project. This is a vectorized photo of my brother's car (it actually looks this good!) and I made this for him for his birthday. I'm hoping to put it on a shirt soon. This took me a lot of time to do in Photoshop (about 40 hrs total, 236 layers) and everyone says it would have been easier in Illustrator. Well, I'm in the Digital Media Arts program at Seneca College and I am now learning (and converting to) Illustrator. So here's to my new venture at Seneca and my new best friend, Adobe Illustrator! I hope you like the artwork!
Cheers
