How bout both! Well all you need is Dinema and you can find restaurants, make reservations, find theatres, check showtimes, buy tickets and coordinate plans with your friends. All from one app! Mock Up Mobile (iPhone) Websites

In our web design class we had to design iPhone ported mockup sites for the full web mockups we previously made. We had a choice to either adapt our websites into iPhone Apps or iPhone Mobile Websites. I chose to make two iPhone Mobile Websites. Here they are...

Mockup Time! ... Again

So guys, you may be aware it's crunch time and all the final assignments are due in less that 24 hrs so everyone in DMA is pretty much getting whiplash from blog updates. I don't even know if that makes sense but I'm a little bit sleep deprived so forgive me. Here is a website mockup we had to do for Joe's webdesign class. I am pretty happy with it. I worked with Terry on this as we had to work in pairs. He had some great ideas and innovative design concepts. We had strict guidelines and restrictions to follow for this one so lots of planning and tweaking went into it. On a side note, Terry's moving on to do Business studies so he won't be back next semester for DMA. He's got good ideas and lots of passion so I'm sure he will do well in that field. A big thanks goes out to him for helping out in the assignments we worked on and for being a cool dude to crack jokes with in the back of class. So after you check out the mockup, check out his blog and his work from DMA: TERRY'S BLOG.

Android App Development

In our Photoshop Graphics class we have been asked to plan and design an app for the Android phone platform. The app concept was given to us and we just needed to design the interface, widget, and logo while doing our best to stick to Android design standards.

The purpose of the app:
An application that serves as a portal for movie reviews, showtimes, locations of theatres and allows users to buy tickets. As well the app must allow users to search for resteraunts near by, read reviews, check menus and book seating reservations.

Here are some concepts for logos, and sketches I have made for my design:

Walk The Line Banners

We were asked to duplicate and resize banners for the movie "Walk the Line" in our Flash class with Andrew Tedford... Here is some of the work I did along with the help of my fellow classmates. Thanks go out to Terry, Diana, Gerard, and Andreas from DMA.

Nissan Trucks Flash Concept Site

In this Flash assignment we had to take a still ad and create an interactive flash concept site using the same assets. Then we were asked to find assets for 2 other vehicles (pictures, logos, etc) and integrate them into the flash site. Though the content for all 3 vehicles are the same you get the idea from this concept flash site. I chose to add some sound fx and buttons that open blurbs on the image. Check it out and mess around by clicking on the buttons and Nissan logo.

PS. I am not affiliated with Nissan and this project is just for education purposes. Enjoy!

Depth of Field Assignment

Hey guys! More fun photography stuff! I am really happy with this assignment since I really like Depth of Field still life shots. Here I chose a subject for my shot that I thought could bring some Holiday Cheer! Yay! (being sarcastic) I actually just wanted to work in the dark with bright lights. So here are my shots:

Better Late Than Never

Hey guys,
We had an assignment some few weeks back and we were asked to create an art gallery for a mock client called "BONEFISH Designer Gallery" where we would display our deck designs from first semester. We had to include an artist BIO and show our deck design in the page. This assignment was cool because it was one of the first where we had to gather assets, take photos, and design a concept in Photoshop for the site. I liked it.
Check out my concept:

Album Art Assignment

In my Typography class at Seneca College I had an assignment where I had to design album art concepts for an artist/band. I was totally unsure who I should choose but the answer became evident after driving to school and listening to the radio. His songs are in heavy rotation all over the airwaves in North America. I went to Florida last April and he was a huge deal down there in the music scene. I went to Vegas in August and everyone sings every lyric to his verses in the clubs when his songs come on. This guy is the Canadian rap artist that is changing hip-hop and making Toronto a name in the industry. DRAKE (Aubrey Graham). So here they are, I hope they can visually compliment his great music.

Shoe Ad

In my photography class we had to make a shoe ad with our own photography and Photoshop skills. Here is mine with my pair of Jordan Flight 45s.

Web Design Mock-ups

In Web Design class Joe has taught us some of the techniques and guides for designing a business/professional web layout. So we have been assigned the task of making our own client mock-ups. The part I like best is that we got to choose ANY 5 websites in the world wide web and redesign any 2 from our choices. So I randomly chose the John Deere Gator Utility Vehicle Website and a site for a prospective client starting a clothing company called Sexymbol Clothing. Check them out:

Blackberry Mockups

In our Web Design class Joe has been teaching us a lot and as someone who messed around with web design and photoshop for quite a while I have actually learned a lot from the class. Joe really knows his shit and gives a lot of good tips and advice. Here is a design we did together in class:

and here is a darker version that we had to make for a secondary client option:

The Golden Ratio

Many people are familiar with the Golden Ratio. It is a term used commonly in art, architecture and just about any area of design. The ratio represents the most aesthetically pleasing difference in length and height. For the purpose of demonstrating the aspects of the Golden Ratio we were asked to make an animation board with Flash in our Media Production class. Here is a look at the final animation I produced.

Samsung Photo Retouch

My Photoshop class works very closely with my Flash class. They are both taught by Andrew Tedford and he has created a few Flash assignments that will use assets we produce with our Photoshop class. Here are some phone photos that we had to clean up and retouch so that we can use them to make an interactive 360 degree viewing animation for the Samsung M 510. Here are small versions of the retouched photos:

The Samsung logo is a registered trademark of Samsung. These photos and the logo are used for educational and display purposes only.

CR8IV.CA Website Mock-Up Design & Development

Hey all!
Here's something a little fun and exciting! I made a mock-up website for my WebDesign coding class. Dan has taught us a lot about html, CSS, and now we have even added some java applets to the mix. Here's a site that I designed, sliced, and coded. I have roll-overs, drop down menus and a java slide show. I'm pumped. I can't wait to get some free time to design my own portfolio site now that I am armed with the skills to do it!

The client we are making these templates for is a company called Cr8iv:

Stalling...

When I showed Andrew my design concept he pointed out that it looks a lot like a Scooby-Doo/Ninja Turtles type of art concept. I was pleased to hear this since the 4-year-old me wanted to be a Ninja Turtle (Michaelangelo) when I grew up and I watched Scooby Doo every night when I was younger. So I guess without me really being conscious of it... Scooby Doo and Ninja Turtles have influenced my art... This is my ode to them...

Here's a three part youtube episode of 'The Gruesome Game of the Gator Ghoul':

Deck Design and Style Guide

So... This is the moment you have all been waiting for... or not...
The deck design is done! I have already put it on my skate deck and submitted it for grading.
It came out so great minus a few ear bubbles and not-so-smoothe cutting around the edges.
All in all im happy with my design and its a great final product. Enjoy this peep at the design in high-res until I can get the design process pics posted up!

Skate Deck Concept Development and Mind Map

For my final assignment in Andrew's class I have to make my own skate deck design. This is something I've wanted to do ever since I started skateboarding when I was about 12 years old. Super stoked about this assignment. I've been doing some research and development for my skate deck. Check out what I've got.

ADS! ADS! ADS!

Our task was to make 6 banners for these corporations: Burger King, Baskin Robbins, Pizza Pizza, Dominos Pizza, Staples and Wal-Mart. Here are my banner ads. Make sure to comment and tell me what you think!

Audi Mock-up Web Templates

Today, in class we finished our web design introduction.
Here are 2 different concepts we created for a mock up Audi R8 web template.
Some of the text information is true some of it is made up and most of it is inconsistent.
Does the R8 have 5.2 FSI or a 4.s FSI Quattro engine? I dunno...

3D Assignment from an Alcoholics Perspective

Hi guys!

Back again with more work! I really liked my latest assignment! Speaking of things I'm fond of, I think the world should know that I really love drawing, graphic design, almost anything that's blue, my mother, etc. I truly do. The only thing I love more is probably beer. Wait, scratch that I love my mother more (sometimes, she buys me beer) Love you mom! None the less I love beer. I got belly to prove it.

So with my utter infatuation I decided I was going to do my latest assignment with beer as my subject of focus.

I had to create 3 scenes with Adobe Illustrator using 3D shapes. All kinds of stuff, extruded shapes, revolved shapes, symbols, shapes with mapped faces. All the fun stuff. So here are the results...

First, My Budweiser Ad/Scene:

My Second, the Coors Light Ad/Scene:

And, my homeland beer, Trinidad's own Carib:

Character Illustrator Assignment

In my Digital Media Art class we were given a project where we had to find or make our own 'character'. First we had to make a sketch, then digitally trace the sketch to make an illustrator vector version. For this assignment I didn't have the slightest idea what I was going to choose for my character but once I put pencil to paper I realized I had an eagle head and from there... I went with it. Here's my sketch (edited a bit in Photoshop)...

Here's my final copy:
